Hotel du Vin Edinburgh fascinator making class hen party

So – we finally got our blog up and running on our lovely fascinator making class website so we can start telling you all about some of the lovely classes and workshops we have run for crafty hen parties so far!

Several months ago we ran a lovely little fascinator making class for Karen’s hen party in Hotel du Vin in Edinburgh. The girls all got their creative caps on as we taught them the basics of how to make some lovely fascinators which they then proceeded to make whilst munching away on some delicious afternoon tea, sandwiches and cakes. Here are some pics of the afternoon and the girls’ brilliant designs:

Fascinator making classes can be held in one of our Edinburgh venues including Hotel du Vin, the Bonham Hotel, the Howard Hotel, Hemma, Urban Angel or Norton House Hotel or at your own venue – whichever suits you best. As long as there’s enough table space that’s all we need really! All of our venues offer afternoon tea which can also be served with bubbles (which we find often helps with people’s creativity!!!) or various other drinks and snacks. We can also travel to other venues within Edinburgh or outside of Edinburgh. We also have four fabulous venues that we use in Glasgow – the Corinthian Club, Blythswood Square, Hummingbird and the Butterfly and Pig Tearooms and are happy to travel to self catering venues in other Scottish destinations.

Packages can be tailor-made to make the class as simple or as extravagant as you like. The class can be themed to suit the hen party, we can adapt the class to make brooches or other accessories – it is really up to you! Discounts are offered for large groups, and for any booking for 12 more people, one person goes free!

Hen Parties

We were the first business in Scotland to offer fascinator making classes for hen parties so have lots of experience and know what makes a fantastic afternoon for you and your hens! Our fascinator making classes are a brilliant idea for hen parties in Edinburgh and hen parties in Glasgow. They are a great way to spend a few hours for those looking for a craft based hen party. You can choose to have the fascinator making class in one of our venues in Edinburgh or Glasgow where you can enjoy afternoon tea, sandwiches, cakes and tea or even champagne while you make your own fascinator or at your own venue allowing you the freedom to eat and drink whatever you like whilst the hens create their fascinators. We shall consider any locations across Scotland, not just in Edinburgh and Glasgow, so just get in touch to check availability. Other celebrations

Although our fascinator making classes are most popular with hen parties, we have also run them for a birthday parties, as part of a creative birthday celebration, for a girls day out where the girls enjoyed a fascinator making class before heading off to a spa for the afternoon, and for an antenatal group afternoon out where the mums-to-be got together and made something for them to wear on their next night out. It's fun to combine the fascinator making class with another activity - why not do a fascinator making class before all going out for dinner, do the fascinator making class before heading to a Ladies Day at the races, or have a morning in the spa before relaxing with afternoon tea whilst making a fascinator?

Timing and special themes

Timing - Classes usually last between 2 and 3 hours. We can do our best to shape the fascinator making class as you want it, so if you want it to be shorter or longer just let us know but we tend to find that between 2 and 3 hours is just right. Obviously this varies from group to group and indeed person to person depending on their experience and chosen designs. Special themes - if your hen party or other celebration has a particular theme - whether that's a colour theme, a particular era or style, we can try to bring along the appropriate materials for the fascinator making class to fit in with your theme (we do need a minimum of 3 weeks notice to do this).
