A “Roaring 20s” fascinator making hen party workshop in Edinburgh!

What a fab afternoon we had with the ladies on Kim’s hen party in Edinburgh last weekend. The hens had come down to Edinburgh from Aberdeen for the weekend and had the class in a lovely apartment in Leith. They had opted for our Great Gatsby, roaring 20s style fascinator class so there were plenty of headbands, feathers and sparkle available for them to use.  Lots of the girls chose simple alice band style pieces using lovely diamante and crystal details, with many of them hand sewing some lovely bead work onto their designs. Once again, each of them came up with unique designs and by the end of the class we had a beautiful range of hand-made fascinators for them to wear out that night. Here are some photos of the hens creating their fascinators and proudly showing off this finished...

Fascinator Making Hen Party Fun in Glasgow’s Hummingbird

Arabella Bridal’s lovely Danielle had a fab time running another fascinator making class in Glasgow. The afternoon session was with Lianne and her glamourous hens in the super cool Hummingbird. The girls had the use of their fabulous “Posh Room” for the class and got to work making some amazing pieces. The girls made a fantastic selection of individual and stylish fascinators. A few of the hens had brought along ideas: outfits that they wanted to compliment, or something they particularly liked – others were simply inspired by the materials and made something unique on the day.  All the pieces that they made were lovely, lots of architectural shapes and bright summery colours. A huge success…the girls headed off for drinks in the evening sunshine, looking even more stylish in their new fascinators then they did when they arrived! Here are some photos of the lovely hens hard at work and showing off their hand made fascinators....

Fascinator Making Hen Party Workshop on the banks of Loch Tay

We had a FABULOUS afternoon on the banks of Loch Tay, half way between Killin and Aberfeldy last weekend, running a fascinator making class as part o Steph’s hen party.  The ladies had rented a stunning house for the weekend, with views across the loch, and the sun was shining for the whole day. We ran the class in the beautiful conservatory overlooking the gardens and loch. The ladies had been busy baking a mountain of scrumptious cakes beforehand and so the adjoining kitchen was full of the delicious treats to fuel the class (I can now confirm that it’s very hard to concentrate on teaching a class when there are such yummy chocolatey smells drifting past your nose…!!) The girls (despite their claims of not being creative) made some beautiful pieces with an array of styles and colours.  There was a lot of giggles and laughter during the class as they beavered away, and everyone managed to complete their pieces in the nick of time, before they headed off for their next activity of Highland Games (which was apparently going to include “Tossing the Haggis” – we want to see the photos from THAT!) Here are some photos of the lovely ladies and their creations.  We can’t wait to go back so if anyone else fancies a Perthshire hen party – do let us know! xxxx...

Fascinator Making with a vintage twist!

Danielle had lots of fun at the gorgeous Butterfly and Pig tearooms again recently running another lovely Fascinator Making Workshop for a hen party.  The setting was perfect for a quirky vintage class and we added a touch of vintage bunting to finish it off. The girls all made gorgeous fascinators with a vintage twist – choosing to include lots of lovely birdcage veils in their designs.  Every fascinator was different and unique, and the girls were all delighted with the outcomes. The girls very kindly wrote to us afterwards to say: “Hi Hannah,  I just wanted to write and say thank you and Danielle for the fascinator workshop, it was excellent! Everyone really enjoyed it and commented on how personable and helpful Danielle was.” So lovely of them – we love our job! Here are some pics of the afternoon, before the girls tucked into their delicious afternoon tea – the cakes at the Butterfly and Pig really are to die...

Louise’s Hen Party Fascinator Making Workshop

A couple of weeks ago we ran another wonderful fascinator making workshop in Hemma in the centre of Edinburgh for the lovely Louise’s hen party.  Louise arrived looking stunning having been made up by the very talented Miss Dixiebelle.  As is so often the case, several of the girls looked terrified as Arabella Bridal’s Hannah explained what they were going to be making – many of them saying that they couldn’t sew and weren’t creative – but as usual, despite that, everyone produced amazing pieces and surprised themselves at what they had achieved! It was a great afternoon and both Hannah and Marie-Anne had a fabulous time with the ladies and were sad when it was all over! Thanks to Louise for allowing us to share some photos of her afternoon and the hens in...

Great Gatsby! A 30s themed fascinator making hen party workshop.

Oh we had a lot of fun last weekend for Emma’s fabulous 30s themed hen party in Edinburgh! We were asked along to host a 30s themed fascinator making class and we had a LOT of fun designing pieces for the girls to make, and they did a fabulous job of creating some stunning pieces!  The class was held in one of the bridesmaid’s flat in Edinburgh which was decorated like a 30s jazz club – plenty of sparkle, jazz and cocktails.  We taught the girls how to make some lovely 30s style fascinators and alice bands that they would be able to wear time and time again. Once again we were amazed at how different everyone’s designs were. The girls had a great time with lots of laughter – we were sorry to leave! Thanks so much for letting us be part of Emma’s hen party – we wish her all the best for her wedding day! Looking forward to seeing photos of it. Here are some snaps of the afternoon:...

Tartan Twist in Glasgow’s West End – hen party fascinator making workshop

A couple of weeks ago, Arabella Bridal’s lovely Danielle had a stylish afternoon in Glasgow’s swanky West End for another hen party fascinator making class in the chief bridesmaid’s home.  It was a fun workshop with a delicious handmade afternoon tea from a vintage tea set, in a beautifully decorated venue with plenty of laughter…and of course an inspired range of fascinators made by the gorgeous hens. A really nice twist at this party with the incorporation of the two families tartans into many of the hens designs. They produced some gorgeous fascinators – well done ladies!   Here are some photos from the...

Edinburgh Bonham Hotel fascinator making hen party

Edinburgh Bonham Hotel fascinator making hen party

Last weekend we had the pleasure of running a fascinator making workshop for Fi’s hen party in the Bonham Hotel in Edinburgh.  This luxurious, boutique hotel is the perfect location for a sophisticated bunch of ladies to enjoy fizz, good food…and of course learn to make fascinators! Fi’s bridesmaid Kara had contacted us looking for a craft based activity for the hen party and we agreed that a fascinator making class would be perfect for the occasion. The girls were all very enthusiastic and came up with some fantastic designs. Interestingly, each and every design made by the ladies was very different and unique, meaning that they have no need to worry about turning up on a night out, or indeed at Fi’s wedding, wearing the same fascinator!  One of the hen’s had brought along a brooch which had belonged to her grandmother to incorporate into the design which is a lovely idea and an ideal way to personalise your design. Despite the bottles of fizz and excitement, there were moments of the afternoon that were silent when the girls were concentrating so much on their designs! As so often happens, those who had arrived stating that they could not sew and were not creative amazed themselves by designing and making a beautiful fascinator and by the end of the afternoon we had 17 gorgeous fascinators complete and on show! Here are some pictures of the bride-to-be and her hen party showing off their masterpieces! Hen party fascinator making classes can be held in one of our Edinburgh venues including Hotel du Vin, the Bonham Hotel, the Howard Hotel, Hemma, Urban Angel or Norton House Hotel or at your own venue – whichever suits you best. As long as there’s enough table space that’s all we need really!  All of our venues offer afternoon tea which can also be served with bubbles (which we find often helps with people’s creativity!!!) or various other drinks and snacks.  We can also travel to other venues within Edinburgh or outside of Edinburgh. We also have four fabulous venues that we use for our hen party craft and fascinator making workshops in Glasgow – the Corinthian Club, Blythswood Square, Hummingbird and the Butterfly and Pig Tearooms and are happy to travel to self catering venues in other Scottish destinations. Packages can be taylor-made to make the class as simple or as extravagant as you like. The class can be themed to suit the hen party, we can adapt the class to make brooches or other accessories – it is really up to you! Discounts are offered for large groups, and for any booking for 12 more people, one person goes free! Get in touch for more...

A Swedish Affair – Edinburgh craft hen party

A couple of weeks ago we held another hen party fascinator making class for a gorgeous bunch of girls in the lovely Hemma in Edinburgh.  This cool Swedish bistro in the heart of Edinburgh is a great setting for a hen party and the girls ordered cocktails to accompany their fascinator making workshop.  Whilst the ladies enjoyed their drinks they were taught how to make some beautiful fascinators and then they set to work. Some delicious sharing platters arrived whilst they were making their fascinators so they could nibble away while making their masterpieces. Once again we were blown away by the brilliant designs they came up with and each and every fascinator was unique.  Even those who had arrived stating that they were not creative in the slightest amazed themselves with the fascinators that they produced. Hen party fascinator making classes can be held in one of our Edinburgh venues including Hotel du Vin, the Bonham Hotel, the Howard Hotel, Hemma, Urban Angel or Norton House Hotel or at your own venue – whichever suits you best.
